Cleaning

Assuming that there has been no major staining or other damaging event, all handmade carpets, rugs, and textiles – depending on its type, origin, and weave -- should be dusted every few years and cleaned every five to seven years. Prior to cleaning, we thoroughly examine each piece, making sure we understand its weave, structure, dyes, foundation, and condition. Each rug type requires a different process for dusting and hand washing. We take care of each piece by hand and only use mild soaps. We never use mechanical tools or machines or harsh chemicals.
