Karabagh is a type of Armenian carpet, frequently featuring dragons, eagles, and other animal motifs. The styles will vary, depending on whether the rugs come from the mountain regions or the lowlands, and from which village within those regions. Weavers of Karabagh carpets were recipients of numerous awards in the late 1800s, when the commercial carpet making industry took off.

Antique Ukrainian and Russian carpets, rich in history and culture, have a long-standing tradition of master weaving. Dating back to the 17th century, antique Ukrainian and Russian rugs began to show influences from both the Middle East and the Far East. Some of the most well known Russian and Ukrainian pieces are the Bessarabian carpets, which appeared during the late 19th and the early 20th centuries in Ukraine, Russia and Moldavia. Weavers would incorporate both abstract flower designs and deep colors of the Middle East, as well as the bright gold tones and repetitive patterns common in Asian weaving of the time period.
Ukraine and Eastern European influence began to pave the way for a more opulent aesthetic, featuring designs based on grand and decorative French carpets. With a more charming appearance, these rugs featured magnificent flower-decorated medallions, elegant bouquets and traditional French compositions. Floral motifs are among the most popular designs, with their depictions of flower in full bloom, and a rich color palette of blush pinks, blacks, and scarlet reds bring these carpets to life, creating a unique look to each piece.
Well-suited for period-style interiors, such as Tudor, English Country, French Country, Victorian, Edwardian, Cottage, or Shabby Chic, Russian carpets would be at home in either a formal or farmhouse style interior. They would perform especially well in a room of white washed furnishings, adding a pop of color, and blend well with your decor.
